Ark of Taste Farm to Table Dinner

September 21, 6:30pm

Edesia Community Kitchen
395 Clark Ave, Paonia

Slow Food Western Slope invites you to attend a multi-course farm to table fundraising dinner kicking off Mountain Harvest Festival! Our featured chefs are Remedy Cafe’s Chelsea Bookout and salt, pollen’s Marcus Parrott. Both chefs source locally to create great menus at their respective eateries. Mark Waltermire of Thistle Whistle Farm, Don Lareau of Zephyros Farm and Garden and Toby McPartland of Colorado Pastured Pork will be featured producers for this event and be offering many products that are on Slow Food’s Ark of Taste.

Don and Mark are participating in a 9 day Seed School that has started in March and will end in November. Some of the seeds used in this School are on the Slow Food Ark of Taste, a living library of delicious and distinctive foods facing extinction. Biodiversity supports a happier, healthier planet with better soils, resilient plants, and beneficial insects. It also gives us a wonderful array of new flavors! Mark, Don and Toby will be harvesting a number of Ark of Taste products for the dinner.

This event is like planting the seed for the Mountain Harvest Festival!

Proceeds of the event will support our chapter’s efforts to promote seed saving, provide scholarships for candidates to attend seed schools and support Delta County’s Seed Library.

The event begins at 5:00pm in Paonia with a Happy Hour at Remedy Cafe (232 Grand Ave) and salt, pollen (101 3rd St); dinner begins at 6:30pm at Edesia Community Kitchen (395 Clark Ave).

Tickets are $75: available at Remedy and salt, pollen and on Brown Paper Tickets. Happy Hour is extra. Wine will be served with each course and is included in the price. Email Slow Food Western Slope regarding availability.
